Mr. Sablich's Class

Remote Learning

To begin the year, we will be meeting for live online classes (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) in our “Language Arts 7” course on Schoology. Through Schoology, students will access our Google Meet link at regular class times in order to learn lessons and complete assignments.

Students will not attend live online classes on Wednesday, but will have assignments or activities for each class and can meet with teachers for help. Please check my "class outline" and contact me if you have any questions.

Attendance in video meetings and participation on Schoology is required throughout our remote learning time.  Attendance and grades will be on Infinite Campus.

Remote learning information from the district can be found here. On the website, there are links to helpful pages, including Family Tech Support

How does language, culture, and community influence our identity (who we are and how we think)?

What is the relationship between language, identity, and power?

How can we use language to create change for ourselves, our families, and our communities?

This year, our goals are to read critically, write consciously, speak clearly, listen carefully, and tell our truth (even online!). Throughout the school year, we will be exploring the power of language to create change for ourselves, our families, and our communities. Beginning with narrative storytelling and personal narratives, we will be discovering the hidden power of storytelling and how writers use language to bring awareness to the challenges that people face around the world.
