NGMS 2021-2022 Learning Model Choice

Learning Model Choice

Dear Northglenn Middle Families,

Adams 12 Five Star Schools intends to offer students the choice between in-person or online learning for the 2021-2022 school year. In order to provide the best experience for all of our students, staff and families we are asking families to share their learning model selection for each child for next school year (2021-2022).

This information will allow us to plan our budgets and staffing needs so we can provide students with the best learning experience possible.

In the form, families will need to choose one of the following learning models for each of their children for the 2021-2022 school year. The learning model selected below will be in place for the entire school year.

  • In-person Learning Option: The district plans to offer full-time, in-person learning (five days a week) for all grades for the coming school year. Schools will implement health and safety protocols based on the latest guidance from our partners in public health.

  • Online Learning Option: The district will offer an online learning option for families who are interested. The online option is for families interested in a virtual, learn-from-home experience. It includes a mix of both synchronous (live, teacher-led) instruction and asynchronous (on-demand) learning and will be taught by certified Five Star teachers.

Every attempt will be made to keep students as connected as possible to their home school. Depending on how many students from each school select this option, your child may have teachers and classmates from other Five Star schools.

Specialized courses available to online learners in middle school and high school will be based on student interest, and as a result, may be limited.

Please note that there will NOT be a fully online option for students at our FutureForward campuses, which offer Career and Technical Education opportunities for high school students. High school students choosing the online learning option will be expected to attend CTE courses at the FutureForward campuses in-person as a requirement for acceptance into the CTE program.

Complete the Learning Model Intent Form for the 2021-2022 School Year

You will be asked to submit information for each child attending a Five Star School. You can enter all of your children on this form. If you have children at other Five Star Schools, you will receive this link more than once, but you only need to submit answers once for each child.

Forms must be submitted by the end of the day on Friday, March 19.

If you do not submit this form, your child will be defaulted to the in-person learning option.

Preschool learning options have not yet been finalized for the 2021-2022 school year, and are not included on this form. Preschool families can expect to receive more information about next school year later this spring.

**Please note that charter schools manage their own learning models. If you have a student at a charter school, please wait to hear from that school about options for the 2021-2022 school year.**

This is your initial choice to help us with staffing.  We understand that more changes may occur and will offer a time during the summer to confirm or change your option.
