Solar Eclipse April 8th

 

Students and Parents, 

As you may be aware, on April 8, 2024, from approximately 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.,a partial solar eclipse will be visible across the Five Star District. 

Safety is our top priority. To ensure our students experience the eclipse in the safest way possible, we will only allow students to view the eclipse by using special viewing glasses or a pinhole camera.

Additionally, each student must return a signed permission slip to their teacher (6th grade 4th hour, 7th grade 3rd hour, 8th grade 4th hour) by March 28, 2024 in order to view the eclipse.

Students whose parents do not sign the permission slip will be able to watch the live NASA broadcast of the eclipse in the classroom or participate in an integrated, instructional learning activity.

 

Estudiantes y padres,

Como ya sabrá, el 8 de abril de 2024, aproximadamente entre las 11:30 a. m. y la 1:30 p. m., será visible un eclipse solar parcial en todo el Distrito Five Star.

La seguridad es nuestra principal prioridad. Para garantizar que nuestros estudiantes experimenten el eclipse de la manera más segura posible, solo permitiremos que los estudiantes vean el eclipse utilizando anteojos especiales o una cámara estenopeica.

Además, cada estudiante debe devolver una hoja de permiso firmada a su maestro (sexto grado, cuarta hora, séptimo grado, tercera hora, octavo grado, cuarta hora) antes del 28 de marzo de 2024 para poder ver el eclipse.

Los estudiantes cuyos padres no firmen el permiso podrán ver la transmisión en vivo del eclipse de la NASA en el aula o participar en una actividad de aprendizaje instructivo integrado.
